About The Crimea

The Crimean countryside and coastlines are truly stunning and have been used in films and television series. The mountains provide unforgettable treks in a peaceful and unspoiled environment and are home to thrilling cable car rides, ancient caves where prehistoric mammoth and bison remains can be seen. At the end of the day a romantic meal can be had with delicious cuisine on offer, accompanied by fine home made wines, or popular regional ones. During the summer The Crimea enjoys a Mediterranean climate with temperatures averaging ranging from 24°C & 30 °C during the day. At night a romantic walk along the beach, enjoying the pleasant temperatures, is a pleasant way to end the day. To enjoy the best temperatures, it is best to visit the Crimea from May through to mid September.

The clean and well maintained beaches and coast of the Crimea are fantastic places to relax and get a sun tan, smell the sea air and take a dip in the Black Sea. The Black Sea of The Crimea itself is a stunning spectacle, with the colour changing from aquamarine to black about 30 metres from the coast. It is common to see Dolphins swimming close to the beaches and many coastline tours and excursions are available.

Food is truly delicious and the fish in particular is always tasty and fresh and most is unique to the Crimea. The wines and beers of the Crimea are among the best I have tasted. Whether your palette is for red or white wine, you will not be disappointed. . You will find that your money will stretch along way in the Crimea! A meal for 2 in a restaurant, including a glass of wine will cost about £10, a glass of wine on it's own will normally be less than £1 and for smokers, cigarettes 40p for 20. Taxis, buses and entrance prices to attractions are also inexpensive. Public transport is an efficient and convenient way of getting around.

The Crimea makes an excellent, romantic meeting place. It has enough variety to appeal to those who want 'thrills and spills' or to those who want to relax.
