Partenit - A brief description

Join my Heart are delighted to present you with Partenit, a jewel of a resort on the southern Crimean coast. Partenit is located in a picturesque valley overlooked from east by mountain Ayu-Dag or "Bear Mountain". Bear Mountain was named after a romantic story of a bear that fell for a maiden and followed her into the sea in pursuit of love. The shape of the mountain does indeed look like a bear with it's head in the sea!

The main ridge protects Southern coast from cold northern winds, therefore the climate here is dry and subtropical, similar to the Mediterranean climate - summer hot, dry, winter more rainy, than cold, spring often comes early, and autumn is usually dry. Externally, the southern coast is very similar to the Mediterranean coast of Yugoslavia and Italy, with the similar landscapes, mountains covered by a bush and trees spreading right along the coast. The big difference is the cost of attractions, food, transport and accommodation, which is very much cheaper here.

The holiday season starts from June and runs to the middle of October, but we recommend traveling no later than mid September to enjoy the best weather for sun bathing and swimming. This is also the best time to see some Black Sea dolphins who are regularly spotted near the coast. The Southern coast, owing to a combination of the sea air and mountains with a smell of a magnificent Crimean pine, is considered by many as having beneficial properties to well being and the mind.

As with most of the Crimea, the vineyards surrounding the area lend themselves to some fantastic wines, champagnes and Cognacs. There are many place that open their doors to tourists for wine sampling.

The fish dishes that are served here are truly delicious and very reasonably priced, while fresh local fruit and vegetables are on sale on nearly every corner. Genetically modified produce is unheard of here. For snacks, sweet and savoury dishes you will be catered for by the Tartar influence which is abundant in The Crimea. There is a weekly market, plus a late night supermarket in Partenit, restaurants, shops, beaches, evening entertainment and even it's own dolphinarium with some amazing spectacles on display.

The valley is in the central part of the southern Crimea coast and Partenit has all the transport links to open up the whole of the Crimean coast to you.
